Is there a growing danger to the Lake Henshaw area? I've heard nothing from that area. It's north of the start of the fire, and so far the fire's been going either south-west or (recently) due east.
Sheriff's just ordered immediate evacuation of the communities of Pine Hills and Julian, both of which are due east. From what I remember about the fuel situation at Henshaw, plus the info available so far, I'd guess it's fairly safe.
As you know, though, these things are unpredictable.

If I could reach them, I'd advise my relatives to leave and take their animals to Borrego Springs.

Fire chief just announced on KOGO that Lake Henshaw and Pauma Valley are being threatened. The fire is not advancing fast and being burned slowly.

Uh... belay the comment about the evacuation of Julian. Sheriff's think somebody ordered it, but Forest Service doesn't agree. So, Pine Hills evacuated, Cuyamaca threatened, Julian uncertain. The old "left hand / right hand" issues that affect this kind of incident.
