Been watching KTLA this morning and saw the fire jump the 118 -- at first they were giving alternate routes out of this area of Simi Valley and pretty soon the main alternte route was no longer there.
They had better get the planes into that area because the exit routes from those neighborhoods are pretty much gone with all the traffic backed up on the 101! The best news is that the winds have not kicked up yet this morning in that area. The helicopters are now dropping water on the fires which are approaching a large residential neighborhood -- so far no homes in that area have been lost.
Just announced that the eastern flank of the Simi Valley fire is approaching San Fernando Valley.
What are the chances of so many fires being in the area of freeways? I say slim to none! Count me in with the tinfoil hat.

Count me in with the tinfoil hat. It's not tinfoil at all. We know the fires were deliberately set. Now we need to find out who set them and why now.

In the Los Angeles area the chances are really pretty good. It's pretty hard to find areas around here that are not close to freeways! And a lot of the freeways run along mountain sides full of brush and dead grass.
