Wow - awesome research on this thread! Way to go guys! Definetly looks like organized domestic terrorist activity.
Archy, I don't think terrorists are usually too hot on the anniversary thing, as they know that's when the police would be on the lookout.
What I do wonder is if it has anything to do with the coming solar storm that's due to hit tomorrow. Maybe they think the double whammy of downing some towers while the solar storm hits would make us especially vulnerable? I wouldn't be surprised if they try something tomorrow.
BTW, the sunflare I'm talking about? They're saying it's going to be the biggest magnetic storm since 1859.

Several towers would have to fall simultaneously on several transmission lines to pose any risk of cascading power outages, said Stephanie McCorkle of the state Independent System Operator, based in Folsom.Not exactly rocket science.
Strong Santana winds are forecast for this weekend. He may have planned to unbolt 4-5 towers, and counted on the winds to take them over in a close time frame.
