Koppel, Nightline and Schiavo: Left Wing Priest Criticizes Florida's Intervention
ABC News ^ | October 21, 2003 | Ted Koppel

Posted on 10/22/2003 7:45:22 AM PDT by d-back

Can't find a complete link to the dialogue, but during the World Series rain delay last night I flipped to Ted Koppel's Nightline and heard a Georgetown Priest, Father Kevin Wildes, expressing criticism of the Florida legislature's intervention in the Terry Schiavo matter.

I was shocked.

Can anyone relate more details of the discussion? Is Father Wildes of the Father McBrien-Father Greeley CINO (Catholic In Name Only) wing of the Church?

Nothing more needs be said.....

Father Kevin Wildes, S.J. is the Associate Director of the Kennedy Institute of Ethics and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy of Georgetown University. He holds a secondary appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He is also a Senior Research Scholar at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics and the Center for Clinical Bioethics at Georgetown.

What we've got here is a failure to excommunicate.

if i recall correctly, at Georgetown it was an object of controversy whether the classrooms should have crucifixes in them or not. i am still not sure what the end result of that was.

Georgetown, the place where students and teachers walked out of during a speach by Cardinal Arinize where he was speaking basic Catholic doctrine.

I'll have to ask my wife if she knows/heard of this.....she was Georgetown class of '87. Seems rather odd for a Catholic school to have that as a controversy, ya know? The oldest Catholic school in the country, in fact.

I saw that pile of crap, Koppel was at his absolute worst.

It's almost as if I remember him sitting there like a ghoul wringing his hands wishing for Schiavo's starvation.

hes the kind of priest that would have helped the nazis kill jews...but, he would have rationalized that it was okay because it was legal and the jews really wanted to die....i'm sure he helps the abortion movement slaughter innocent minority babies beacause they really wanted to die all along....

Liberals infect and destroy all institutions, not even religious institutions are exempt.

"Ethics", "Professor", "Philosophy", "Scholar", "Clinical Bioethics" yet still cannot recognise the difference between right and wrong.

Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

...Associate Director of the Kennedy Institute of Ethics...

Is this for real? Is it the same Kennedy family of Teddy and Jack? I wonder what kind of ethics research they do there? How about "How to Beat The Rap on Rape Charges", or "Underwater Diving Techniques", or maybe "How to be a Public Drunk With No Media Scrutiny"?
