It is most likely a direct shot of morphine. An I.V. would help keep her alive, especially if there is saline in it for her vital organs.

Irony here now is, if she does get her tube back in, she may end up in a coma from the morphine, lack of food and water. We may want to be careful about what we wish for at this point.
