[history]
A distraught 10-year-old Red Sox fan should not be told that people are starving in Third World countries (dismissive). Or that it matters only that Red Sox players tried their very best (condescending).
Or that the Red Sox are bound to win the World Series someday (possibly untrue).

That cant be correct. That fan cost the Cubs the pennant. The ball players played no part in it. The fan changed our destiny and will go down in the annals or maybe that should be (anus) as another Benedict Arnold.
And that Boone character could not have hit that homerun had the bats and balls not been juiced up just for him!
YEH!

Just sell them on the tradition - "They do that to us every year - it's just part of the experience of growing up in New England, just like seeing the leaves change colors."
At least this time it wasn't because someone let a ground ball go through their legs, and the guy hitting the home run this time was a third baseman, not a light-hitting shortshop. Oh, and nobody interfered with the catcher while trying to bunt this time, either.

Though I am worried her favorite ballplayers are fat, crazy guys.
It should be easy for her to find a husband - there are a lot of us big, fat crazy guys around.

Un-PC Philosophy:
Play to win. If you don't win, be gracious, but learn from your experience and mistakes so the next time you play better.

Instead, he should be told "Get used to it". ROTFLMAO. I made my husband read your post. We were screaming.

They should just take a page from the Democrats, and say that the Yankees' pennant atop Yankee stadium was 'selected, not erected'.

I feel for the Red Sox fans, I really do. I am a Rangers fan, and hearing people chant "1940, 1940" at games got really old. So I sympathize.
But did they really think it was going to end in The House That Ruth Built? The Babe's not going to allow THAT...
