Well, the whole thing is really sad to me. I feel for the family. But, that said, we have extensive legislation and legal precedent in place to deal with these types of situations.

This thing seems to boil down to one single conflict:
The husband and the woman's parents disagree about what should happen to her. However, the law says the husband's word is the final word. That's the law, and for all intents and purposes, that's what's happening in this case.

People who are angry and upset should do something to change the law.
