PLEASE ,PLEASE go to the website http://www.terrisfight.org and read the letters that have just been sent to Jeb Bush in regards to the Terri Schiavo case. JEB BUSH can LEGALLY STOP THIS. CALL his office, CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES, CALL and email the media.THE CLOCK is ticking to save her life.
Sorry if this post isn't " polished" and " refined" but I am not a seasoned " poster" here on FR.

Sean Hannity is reading the Thomas More Law Center letter to Jeb Bush now, while Terri's father is on air with him.
To: pollywog
Excellent! Sean just put Jeb on the hot seat on this... Let's pray he does the right thing.

Insult instead of communication? very clever. Did you bother to look how long I've been here? And just because someone has been here a while doesn't mean they've read everything there is to read here. If there's something wrong with the guy spit it out like an adult. I deal with kids all day every day and sadly a lot of Freepers resort to the same tactics as 3yr olds, hopefully you aren't one of them.

Sean says he's going to call the governor's office and see if he can get a reaction before tonight's show (Hannity and Colmes).

Terri's father on with Sean Hannity sounds so tired.
He accused Michael Schiavo of strangling his daughter, of not wanting Terri to recover enough to tell. He welcomes a lawsuit, said Judge Greer blocked every avenue of investigation over the years.
Sean is going to try to contact Jeb.

Jack Thompson is a legend around here. He claimed to have extensive legal skills (which, IMNHO, was questionable, see following). You weren't ANYBODY around here until he threatened to sue you because he disagreed with your post, and then you were a "made FReeper." He appeared all over Florida in a Batman costume. He also bragged that his main qualification was that a psychiatric review panel had declared him sane. (Most of us manage to go through life without the question ever being raised to that level.)
Once upon a time, he threatened to sue me, and demanded my name and address in FReepmail so that I could be served.
I answered:
Deeyenda Maddick

Chicago, IL 60613-4397

Yes, Sean is more likely than anyone of us to get a reply from Jeb Bush! (Other than the form responses I get to my emails -- they must be swamped -- the automated reply mentions "high volume" of emails coming in.)
I'll be tuning in to Hannity and Colmes tonight in hopes of hearing Jeb's response.
Thank you Sean for being on the side of the angels in this case, and giving a voice to the voiceless.

Thank you! Your poem brought tears to my eyes. This whole situation has had me so upset since I heard about it, I can hardly think of anything else. I pray that Jeb will do his duty and save this poor woman. And the thought of what her parents and brother and sister have been going through for 13 YEARS! just tears me apart. To try to so desperately to right this injustice and have the Florida courts rule against them OVER AND OVER AND OVER again, knowing in their hearts how wrong this is - unspeakable!
And I also want to say how sorry I am about your daughter. She sounds like she was such a blessing to you. May you find peace in the knowledge that she is in God's loving arms.

How do you ping? I should know as I work with computers, hehe.I think pinging other FReepers just means typing in their names in the "To:" box when you're composing a reply. You separate their names with semicolons.
Some FReepers have long list of others who are interested in a topic, already prepared and ready to cut and paste into the "To:" box. (Saves a lot of typing.)
That way when people check their "my comments" page, they'll see the article 'pinged' to them.

I was listening to the Glenn Beck show yesterday. As most of you probably know, Beck has been a tireless advocate for Terri's right to live. Yesterday he was talking about what to expect from a death by dehydration. He said that as all the bodily fluids dried up, including those in the eyes, that the person goes blind. Does anyone here have the medical background to say how long Terri can go without fluids before she might lose her eyesight?
To: Warren
Why should anyone outside the family have a say in this?Because this isn't just a matter for a family, or an estranged husband, to decide. The state has a moral and legal duty to protect the life and welfare of all it's citizens, including those in such circumstances as this lady's. That duty is why the state has a right to disregard the desires of a Christian Scientist or Jehovah Witness parent and order medical treatment for a minor child.
This is not a case where a brain dead person is being kept "alive" by artificial means such as a ventilator and mechanical blood pump. The lady is simply being given food and drink through a feeding tube, a procedure which is carried out hundreds of thousands of times every day all over the country. She is unable to speak or otherwise communicate, but she is in no danger of imminent death unless she stops recieving food and water. Should a medical patient be killed simply because they are living under very unpleasant, or even painful, circumstances? If our society has degenerated to the point where such an act is seen as not only permissable but desirable, then we are no longer a civilized, morally responsible nation.
I cared for my father for 9 months before he died. He was bedridden, helpless, and suffering from the last stages of Alzeimer's disease. He could not speak intelligibly and he didn't recognize any of his family. But he was physically healthy. He had no ailment which was an immediate threat to his life. But at any time his life could have been ended by ceasing to supply food and water through his gastric feeding tube. I prayed every day that God would take him out of that very unpleasant situation, but I would not have stopped feeding him if my own life depended on it. Why? Because it would have been murder, plain and simple.
If a person is being kept "alive" by extraordinary artificial means such as a ventilator, it is not murder to turn off the machines. But this is not that kind of situation. To starve this lady to death by deliberately witholding food and water is nothing less than legalized murder, no less than it would be if an infant unable to feed itself were to be starved to death because someone decided it probably didn't want to live.
You may say the lady would rather die than live in her terrible condition, and you may be correct. Personally, I don't believe a person has the right to say when they will die, only God has that right. We have laws against suicide because it has always been universally recognized in western Christian culture that no one has the right to deliberately end his or her life. BUT, even if you disagree with me on that point, and I realize that most non-Christians today do, the fact remains that no one but the lady herself knows what she wants in the matter. Given that, and even putting aside all moral considerations, it is utterly unconscionable by ANY standard to deliberately kill her without knowing if that is her desire. (And kill is exactly the right term, she is not being "allowed" to die, she is being KILLED) All we know is what her estranged husband says she once mentioned many years ago in that regard. And given the financial stake he has in the matter, his statements regarding her supposedly expressed desire are certainly not to be taken as unquestioned truth.
