On Wednesday, however, they escalated their campaign and invited their destruction.

Let's just keep on spending $95 billions+ to get those mooslims to like us and stop blowin us up.

Meantime, our "arch-friend" the Chinese are spending their billions to colonize the planets and build fancy weapons that shoot down our shuttle without a clue.

Boy are we in deep doo doo.

This editorial's writers are clueless. US diplomats have been murdered by Islaminazi terrorists several times in the past couple of decades, with minimal consequences to their handlers.

On the other hand, with the current administration, they may finally have to pay a price. One can hope, anyway...
so, clueless or not, the encourgagement from these usually spineless journalists is welcome.

killed 49 Americans, most with dual citizenship,

That is a totally fabricated "fact". I follow this stuff closely, and nowhere at any time have I seen a tabulation of the actual citizenship status of the murdered Americans. Many of them, I know for a fact, were simply American Jews visiting Israel. The number of dual citizens is actually tiny.

Why fabricate this?

Attacking diplomats ANYWHERE on the planet is an act of war. Let's treat it like that.

Until now, the most notable American death was that of Rachel Corrie, an activist killed March 16 when she placed herself in front of an Israeli bulldozer destroying the home of a terrorist in Gaza.

Question: What's the smallest thing in the universe?

Answer: Arafart's a$$hole after some of his loose cannons killed three U.S. diplomats.

I can just hear him on his cell phone... "Hello, Allah be praised, ...Yes?...Give me your report... uh-huh...yes...ok... WAIT!...you did WHAT??? Oh Allah help us now... bend over and kiss it goodbye."

They are murderous thugs who must be dealt with before any further steps are taken in the peace process.

Correct!

Wednesday's outrage should result in the United States disengaging from the Palestinian territories, suspending financial aid for the Palestinian Authority and offering Israel all the assistance and encouragement it needs to root out and destroy the terrorists.

I agree with the first two, except that I wouldn't "suspend" aid to the PA; we shouldn't have been doing that in the first place. So it should be ended, period.

Otherwise we should stay out of this centuries-old fight. We would have a lot less trouble in this world if we learned to mind our own business.

In a lot of ways I have to feel for the Palestinian people. There is a group who have consistently had their leaders make the most absurdly self-destructive decisions, the silliest alliances, the stupidest acts of violence, and the most infuriatingly clumsy PR of any major group of the last century.

They're stuck now. They've become the focal point for every bearded, 7th-century fantasist with an AK, in a part of the world where that's the number one cash crop. They can have no peace even if they want it because it threatens the power of too many other little groups, any one of which can derail the peace process by precisely the means used yesterday. And they do not control these groups, the groups control them. In short, they're screwed.

They've also become the focal point for an entire martial mythos that is similar in action to the Nazis dragging down the entire population of Germany as an effect of their own martial culture. Only in this case the drum-beaters are not restricted to an internal group, and are much harder to excise. It is as if the Nazis were watching from a safe distance while the German population was immiserated, cheering them on but not sharing the misery. Were the entire population of Palestine destroyed the drum-beaters would still be there screaming "death to Israel, death to the U.S." and looking for another battlefield not their own.

Their putative military allies are not their friends. For one thing, each of them has his own agenda, usually centering around consolidation and maintenance of political power by providing an external enemy - Israel, and by extension the United States. For another, none of them is willing to allow the Palestinians to emigrate to their own country, dooming them to permanent refugee status in a cauldron of violence. Those are not the activities of friends.

And to make matters worse, they've bought into the whole martial, death-to-Israel thing as a form of their own identity, which puts them in the position of someone living in poverty and misery looking through the window at plenty and deciding that the plenty must be destroyed. Surrounded by allies that will buy them bullets and bombs but not medicine and jobs, by their only real hope for prosperity which they're rejecting with both hands, by an international community that offers them only self-righteous, sanctimonious lip service, and kept from rapprochement with their best hope of real help, the U.S., by a whole cast of characters who would rather see them dead than the U.S. successful in anything, they're in a situation that approaches in hopelessness the ones occupied by the suffering people in North Korea and just vacated by the people of Iraq.
