You caught that, too. I personally think they should teach about Islam in schools. They already do about people like Hitler and Nazism, and the brutality of it. So teach them correct information and roll the dice.
But I would beg to suggest additionally here it be done at ages where the learners are capable of understanding the savagery, cruelty, and barbarity of it, too. Then give them the chance to ponder on its destructive nature and viciousness. Third graders may know how to play a computer game, but they don’t know people in their innocence. Let them grow up before you scare he(( out of them. Possibly high school civics (government) classes age 16 up. Before that, and possibly after, it has the boogieman effect of not being real.

When I was in seminary I had a course in World Religions. As part of that course we went as a group to large “churches” of those religions and took part in one of their services. I guarantee if you take a high school class to a mosque and have them take part in a service, those young people will reject it real quick. We talked with some of the “leaders”, who were obviously not pleased to have the task, and they led us into the worship. The men in our group were taken into the Large main area covered with prayer rugs. We women were taken into a small secluded place closed off by a large screen. Let high school hormone filled young people, especially women, experience that. It was a great education. I was encouraged to pay closer attention to what Islam taught by reading the Koran through. It’s not convincing.
