There is something psycho about Jeb. He is already tall, taller than the others, and yet he still feels the need to stand on his tippy toes.

I think the neurosis extends to his choice in marriage partners. His wife is unusually short, very tiny, practically a midget. That whole relationship strikes me as weird, almost perverse.
