Ted Cruz may never have stood much of a chance against Donald Trump in next weeks Republican primary, but his derisive comment about his opponents New York values first made in January with an eye on voters in Iowa and New Hampshire may have helped his rival seal the deal.
Trump currently stands at 55% in the polls in New York, according to Real Clear Politics polling average, with Cruz on 18% and Ohio governor John Kasich ahead of him on 20%.
But the conservative Texas senator does have some supporters prepared to come out and back him in the Empire State. Midway down Long Island on Monday, fans turned out to see his wife, Heidi Cruz, and after months of Trump shelling Cruz with Lyin Ted insults, they were returning fire.
Hes like a five-year-old, said Jeanie Middleton of Trump. He throws a tantrum if he doesnt get his way. Husband Bob chimed in: People are angry with the government so now you have two anti-establishment candidates. [Democrat] Bernie [Sanders] says the system is rigged and Cruz is saying that, too, but Bernie wants to increase government and Ted Cruz wants to reduce it.
Trump, he said emphatically, is not the answer. Hes all over the place. He changes his mind every five minutes. Ted Cruz is the closest thing weve got to a comprehensive conservative.(continued)

Cruz has supporters in New York?
Where?
He must have flown them in from Colorado
Didn’t you mean Calgary?
He had some uber-rich homos from manhattan pay for some of his services.
Get your mind out of the gutter.
I meant political services. :)
Reagan old Manager and Trump's new Man told Hannity that Kasich will win more Votes than Cruz in April
He sounded to me like he was hedging his bet a bit.
BTW, have any of you Trump cheerleaders read the NY rules for appointing delegates?
You just might be a bit surprised when all the votes are counted and delegates awarded.
I'd have checked out the NY rules before giving everything to Trump but then Trump's own grown kids didn't know they had to be registered to vote for daddy - oopsie!
who are Ted Cruz’s supporters in New York?
—
They must be in Florida ..... no, they weren’t there either.
Heh. Hide-me Cruz is losing her money-raising powers.
Yeah, that Manafort guy is gonna help us get over the hump. Looking good.
I cut my eye teeth in New York politics and know how the delegates get distributed and IF you believe that Teddy will manage to get any, your illicit sub stance dealer sells you really powerful junk!
Apparently Trump and two of his children have only been interested in voting in national elections. That’s not a good indicator of people interested in smaller, localized government.
Probable better they weren't registered, except for Jr, the others would probable of been registered democrats.
He sent his wife Heidi this time because last time he was in the city he got heckled by 2 of the 12 voters who actually bothered to show up...Cruz is scared to go back because of those new york values...
Fools, idiots, gullible people? I give up, who?
Newman !!!
nope
Watch the first five minutes or so, Trump talks about the rules in Colorade and Florida and elsewhere. Very interesting;

“Texas Senator Ted Cruz officially announced that he’s running for president. Cruz said that after doing exhaustive research to see if he had a real chance to win, he said, ‘I’m gonna run anyway.’” Jimmy Fallon

The four leading candidates for president, then, can be described as:
— a guy who may or may not be sincere about finding out what’s going on between now and January 20th.
— a guy who may or may not be planning some sort of Mormon-evangelical theocracy
— a guy who not only says he is a socialist, but is old enough to have a complete loss of memory
— Hillary Clinton which says choose one of the other three.
