At a Senate judiciary committee hearing on Thursday, California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein shot down a proposed amendment exempting veterans from her “assault weapons” ban, bizarrely arguing that it’s legal to hunt humans with high-capacity magazines.
“The time has come, America, to step up and ban these weapons,” Feinstein said. “The other very important part of this bill is to ban large capacity ammunition feeding devices — those that hold more than 10 rounds. We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines. Limiting magazine capacity is critical, because it is when a criminal, a drug dealer, a deranged individual has to pause to change magazines and reload that, the police or brave bystanders have the opportunity to take that individual down.”
Feinstein also said the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder in some military veterans is a concern....

I never hunted humans. Do you need a permit for that? Is it only legal in Kalifornia?

1) The capacity limit for hunting argument would only work if game animals SHOT BACK, or if you’re talking to brain dead leftwingers.
2) High capacity magazine are not critical to armed criminal perpetrators, since they are the initiators of the shooting (i.e. they pick the time and place) they can prepare with extra magazines at the ready for split second reloading. It is for the law abiding citizen, suddenly confronted by armed (and prepared) criminal perpetrators, that a weapon loaded with a “large” capacity magazine is “critical” - since only he/she could be the one unprepared with extra magazines at the ready for split second reloading. (One of the Columbine shooter used thirteen 10-round magazines to fire 96 shots.)
I haven't checked recently, but that was perfectly legal a few years back when I checked with Fish and Game, here.
(Be prepared to have your shirttail cut off if you need more than one or two of those rounds, though...)

A good response to her at that hearing would have been “Had I known it’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines, you have been gone a long tome ago. I would have used the 15 round since anything less is apparently not legal and come back with 14 rounds.”

She's saying that we limit duck hunting to 3 rounds, but BECAUSE THERE ARE 50 AND 100 ROUND MAGAZINES, THAT ALLOWS PEOPLE TO KILL OTHER PEOPLE WITH THAT MUCH FIREPOWER -- or something like that.
These people hate firearms, everything connected with him and want them GONE.
I disagree. They like guns just fine. They just want themselves and their jackbooted minions on the right side of those guns, and you and me on the wrong side.

Umm, should I bother to point out the obvious? The obvious is that ducks can’t shoot back nor do ducks rob or rape anyone. But, this may be beyond Feinstein’s grasp.....
