Ever considered it could be that male voters see Boxer as a total, well you know, and could very well see Fiorina the same way.
Boxer and Fiorina differ in politics but they don’t really differ with personality. It might not make a difference with female voters but men generally don’t like voting for women they perceive to be as b’s and for better or worse both Fiorina and Boxer are seen that way.
He’s perceived as a moderate, therefore he can attract conservative democrats and independents.
