I'm guessing that Mr. Palin isn't packing heat since he's not a licensed Personal Protection Officer (aka Bodyguard). She is the most probable nominee and has at least 50/50 chance of being our next president. She needs that level of protection as of last week. President Bush was gracious enough to give then Senator Obama Secret Service protection long before he won the primaries. Do you truly think Mr. Obama would do the same?

Palin appeared in a shimmery light-blue jacket worn over a black, knee-length dress and joked: "I'm in borrowed clothes, again," referring to the designer clothes controversy during the 2008 presidential campaign.

I laughed when I read that. She sure has a great sense of humor.

I wouldn't worry too much. Now that they can afford it, the Palins appear to have contracted for full time security services during their travels, usually with two very beefy (and likely armed) Blackwater-type bodyguards keeping watch over them. If you check her more recent meet-and-greet pics, you'll see them hovering around in the background.

There was a story a couple of weeks ago that mentioned Todd hanging out backstage with the security dudes while Sarah was giving a speech at a rally. So, I have no doubt that the Palins have been thinking the same thing you and a lot of other folks have been thinking concerning security.

Yeah, and I traveled on a TWO private jets last time I went halfway across the country. Both jets privately owned by Delta Air Lines and its subsidiaries, not a government-owned airline, albeit one that chronically uses government bankruptcy court as an operating strategy.

By the way, I don’t begrudge Obama (or our troops) for traveling on a United States Air Force jet. That’s how Sarah Palin and family will travel around the world in a few years if we get our way (and can’t find a better candidate).
