Rudy has a proven record of losing to (hillary!).

I never believed that ruse about 'prostate cancer' which Rudy pulled to withdraw from the NY senate race -- three months before election day. (what was it, Aug. of 2000?)

Did anyone notice Rudy was back at his job as NYC Mayor within weeks of his withdrawel.

In fact, he looked at peak performance and healthy by that Christmas, and SURELY looked fit and healthy by time the terrorists struck on 9/11

Methinks Rudy saw himself losing in the polls, and did not want to be branded a loser.

He certainly could have continued his US Senate bid, even if he had to take a few weeks off to recuperate. In fact, he probably would have gotten a decent sympathy vote if he had stayed in after getting relatively routine surgery.(or whatever he got)

We think alike. I felt that exact same thing the instant that I first heard the news.

Prostrate problems are pretty common with men in his age group and he wouldn’t have to withdraw for it anyway.

When he failed to jump into the race in 04, that confirmed it.

Rudy could have knocked hillary into the footnotes of political history by taking the NY Senate seat from her, and he would have been a shoo in for the GOP nomination then. - but he knew.

He knew.
