The contents of the previous amnesty proposal, pre-9/11, and this one are no different in any substantive manner.
The only distinction is that granting amnesty in the wake of the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil looks even more absurd than it did prior to the WOT.

Wait, did not President G. W. Bush make an offer to amnesty the Illegal Aliens in this country in 2002-2003 ? Didn't he not renew that offer 'after' he was reelected in November 2004 ?

I am one of this forum's staunchest defenders of Katherine Harris .
But that does not make me a mindless booster !
I was pointing out to another that advancing an amnesty for illegal aliens is unwise, and certainly unpopular given the current situation with this May 1st boycott .
I was also pointing out that her action by itself does not make her pro-illegal alien !
And I have mentioned that Bill Nelson's actions against amnesty have been mere populism, that he could and probably will reverse his recent decision against amnesty IF and after he is reelected !
Nelson is a DINO !
