The Dunedan came from Numenor.

I know, but aren't they and the Gondorians of the same blood? I didn't think Gondor was made up of men of lesser blood.

Elendil was the first of the Dunedan in Middle Earth. Elendil settled in Erebor.

The two sons settled in Gondor until Elendil's death at which time Isildur went to Erebor.

Now, I would have to verify this part - but I was thinking that the Dunedan was the entire royal line decended from Elros. Which would be the royalty of Numenor. I'd have to read up on that part though.

I didn't think Gondor was made up of men of lesser blood.

Over the ~3000 years that Gondor existed, the Numenorean strain gradually became diluted with that of "lesser" (read: ordinary) men. The same happened in Arnor, but the royal line in the North was less diluted that that in the South. That's why Aragorn lived longer than 200 years; extended life was one of the gifts given to the Numenoreans. Even long after they were exiled, members of the royal line lived to three times the span of ordinary men.
