Actor Stephen Baldwin was On Fox News at a Christian Event
Fox News Channel | Fox Magazine

Posted on 04/27/2003 8:37:06 PM PDT by GeorgiaYankee

I just saw actor Stephen Baldwin on Fox magazine (repeat coming at 2am EST) at a Christian event featuring evangelist Luis Palau and singer Jaci Velasquez.

He was wearing a fish-logo Jesus hat and talking about the importance of events like this to reach young people for Christ!

This is Alec Baldwin's brother. Anyone hear the current weather report from Hell?

I don't morally equivocate them.

Abortion bad.

Death penalty for murderers good.

Sure baptisms can be repeated, especially if one was baptized as an unbelieving infant! One would need to be baptized if one ever got saved!!!!

Cripes, I'm all for freedom but FR has standards and you don't even meet the minimum at DU. Perhaps your educable but I doubt it.

Is it all chaff or is there any substance in those wheathead? Thus far the answer is bleak.

I do not feel the two are morally equivalent, but those on the far left try to make them so using that very argument.

Yes. I was so unfairly jailed as well.

What's done is done, and in a way I am glad it happened. It exposed the stalker chick for who she really is. Guess she didn't know that all her posts accusing me of things that were not true, and things I didn't say, would be countered by a good friend of mine, Con X Poser.

I'd be willing to go down in flames for anything I really believe in. But that one was a set up from the get go.

:-)

Actually, in the Catholic and Methodist churches, a person baptized as an infant CANNOT be baptized again in their church.

I got to the thread in question late and saw what had happened and everyone claimed the " I saw nothing" explanation.

There are reams of PC cops around here so one has to be careful

...and don't mess around with FR's sacred cows either.

We flagellate here constantly to show how open minded we are...which is funny considering the world acts like we're just a bunch of extremists.

Looks like the FR sacred cows are over on this thread really showing their true colors.

When people get saved, they should get baptized. Of course that is just what the Bible, God's Word says. Maybe men know better? NAH. I'll stick with God. The only valid baptisms are those of believers.

Somehow, if your politics include standing for the wholesale slaughter of babies in the womb, I think God cares

If one truly believes in God his veiws will be opened up to him as wrong but its not up to us to judge him for it in the church the lord will judge ....But in the politicle ring its no holds barred thats where we fight it .... I pray for the day that millions of peoples eyes are opened to the abuse of abortion and the abuse and use of our bill of rights to hide behind it.

Every man prays in his own right and his own way the judgement of that prayer will soon come but also the judgements of his actions as well!

Faith without works is dead.

If you want me to name famous liberals you have heard of, then I can't do it. I am thinking of people in my own circle of influence. They are pretty good people in my mind, but we have some major disagreements on some issues... like abortion and taxation.

You completely and utterly conflate guilt and the purest from of innocence. Do me and everybody else a favor, stay out of the jurors box.

Thank you for hitting the nail on the head.

Is this really an issue? I know many liberal Democrats who are adament believers in Christ. They generally focus on the "love thy neighbor" part of the gospel. Even though they can be totally wrong about how to run the world, they can still be right spiritually.

This is not the Luis Palau crowd.

You are entitled to your interpretation. It is one reasonable interpretation of the scripture. My denomination happens to choose a different one.

"I thought the Baldwins were nominally Catholics. Or were brought up to be nominal Catholics, anyway. Wonder if he was already baptized as a baby, and was unaware that baptism cannot be repeated."

Can you tell me where John naptized babies or how babies have the ability to commit their heart to Jesus? You won't find it. Adults were baptized by John the Baptist because they were able to make the decision to turn their life over to Jesus Christ.

The baptisim of babies is pointless other than the adults are publically stating their commitment to raise their baby as a Christian, at best. No one can make that decision for you. Also there is no magic in the water. Whether baptized by water as an adult or a baby, the water doesn't change hearts. Change of heart is a decision by an individual with help from God.

Baptism is NOT a requirement for eternal life. The thief on the cross, next to Jesus, was NOT baptised and Jesus told him, he'd be with Him in paradise. It is BELIEF and FAITH in Him that allow you to have eternal life. Baptisim is a public and sympbolic announcemnt of your desire for eternal life.
