'Hard to say what he really thinks. His links are good counter-point, but his own considered opinion sounds thin to me. Who knows how he defines the left. Lobbing grenades is easy, but after a while everyone goes deaf, and under the smoke the ground is rougher than before.

I find the other 'c-word' consensus better defines a lot of behavior than the loaded word conspiracy. I doubt Dan Rather and Brokaw phone each other up before the evening news and decide on a spin and story order. But if you turn the 3 networks on at the same time, you'll see what appears to be a designed, orchestrated spin on daily affairs. They don't have to conspire, they have the same cultural consensus and corrupt world view. Of course, there are some good conspiratorial underpinnings to the engineering of consensus, and the softening of positional minds, but that's been covered here before. Since _Jim thinks we're Birchers, we can just wink and keep that topic our little secret.

I also doubt any great conspiracy of the left. I do see a "belief" system the tends them in the same general direction.

My point to _Jim was that though I do not see black helicopters and multimillionaire \ corrupt politician takeovers; I do see a ideology that poses a threat to my way of life.

That threat will come from organizations like the U.N. and people in power that long for a "Third Way".
