I watch Emeril for the ideas. I can't cook from his shows, and when I get his recipes off the foodtv.com I have to be careful. But I do find him entertaining.

The biggest problem I have with cooking, is the starting point. I can't decide if I should shop first, look at what looks good, and then decide, or go to the store with a total plan and a mission! As a chef, you can take any suggestion, and have an idea of what to do with it.....I've seen you do it. I'd love to get to that stage!

I shop first. Find what is inexpensive, in season, and good. And cook from that. Yes, it is sometimes difficult to come up with ideas, but knowing the basics of food science helps.

As a chef,

Thank you, but I am still just a cook. I hope to be a chef someday.
