I know I have had some conflicts with a couple of Hole Dwellers in the past, but I always tried my best to patch things up with them personally or at least let sleeping dogs lie where they may. And it looks like no one is mad at me at the moment, so here goes...
You want to know what hurts me the most? The fact that we are like a family in my mind. A bit dysfunctional? Maybe. A bit different? Definitely! But we always stick together and fight for each other when we get beat up on other threads, no matter what we might feel towards each other now and again.
And that is what makes this place like no other in FR. The very fact that we got together on this one thread, despite how we feel about each other on other threads/topics, and have friendships far superior than to some I've had in RL.
Well, let me say this, and you'd better all hear me out!
Say what you will about me. Tell me to "shut up and get me a pint" or "you ain't the boss of me" or even "blow it out your shorts". I'll love you anyway cuz I ain't leaving!
Besides, if I know you don't like me, it's immensely more satisfying to stay here and annoy you! (KIDDING!)
But I'm not joking when I say that am not and will not leave. And to those that have, feel free to FReepmail me because I still love you and want to continue our friendships, even if they can't be in the Hole.
Consider this my anti-opus...the only opus I've ever posted on FR. My tagline means more than some quote from a book. I believe the friendships in the Hobbit Hole dwell within a very deep root.
