I read on a thread that another Ringworld book is coming out soon, sort of looking forward to that, except I've kind of forgotten the story line, except the breeding for luck part, which is cool.
What is your take on the possibility of alien life?

Ringworld was a cool concept, but Niven's story was kinda dull. He needs Pournelle for the plots.
I think that there probably isn't any alien life. If there is, it most likely doesn't matter to us because we (personally, never mind our descendents) never meet them. I don't think aliens have visited, because if they had I think we'd all know.
I suppose they could be real but it just doesn't seem like. As Lewis brought up in the Space Trilogy we were discussing a few posts back, it raises some interesting theological questions if there were aliens.
But hey, what's so wrong with saying the whole universe was created with only a single intelligent race, and that the stars were put there for our benefit?
