Okay, who can help with this one?

When I log into my identity on Windows XP I get a bunch of pop up window adds. Not quite like on the web, but the gray Windows format.

How do I get rid of them? I've got a permanent cable connection. Windows tells me if I close Windows Messenger I'll shut down Outlook Express as well.

Well that isn't true.... I uninstalled Windows Messenger... I would get rid of all instant messengers, but that is just me! ;~D What other popups? - You shouldn't be getting any kind of popups just opening Windows, unless it is still trying to install updates and setup stuff. I would imagine on a new machine there are updates and patches you need.
