HA! HA!

Noisy bikes are fine as long as they aren't in my wilderness area!

Mine won't be in your wilderness area. I've got multiple personalities as I'm sure you've noticed. I also love backpacking and get very angry when people abuse my wilderness backpacking territories.

However, my bike IS very loud. And, it hangs well with all the bikes in its class going down a drag strip. Which, IMHO, is a wonderful place for lots of HP noise. *goose bumps*

P.S. I'm just horse illiterate. I seldom meet a cat or dog that doesn't love me. Like every other kid in Texas I grew up loving horses. Thing is, every time I've ever tried riding one, it's bitten me.

While you were riding, or afterwards?

It's a combination. First one was when I was a kid. Horse must have been double-neck-joined. Turned around and bit the poop out of my knee. He got me about 3 times before I got off. Worst one was riding my aunt's horse. Bit me after I got off on the back near my spine. Aunt says it was my fault because horse didn't like little girls. HELLO! She had 2 horses, why didn't she put me on the one that wasn't sexist!

Oh Dear. Well, those do sound like bites that were "personal". I will take the beast's side on the first one and say that if he turned around to bite you while under way, perhaps he had a crinkle in his saddle or something that was hurting him.

When a horse bites, the motivation is not always hateful! - Usually you can tell if it is by their expression. Sometimes they are bored, sometimes they think you might have a treat in your pockets, sometimes they are just pushy. They don't have any hands... Their face is their only tool of expression! They shouldn't ever do it, and I would promise you that if you ever met him, Bay would never bite.

I did a lot of volunteer work, 10 years worth, for our local Little League, coaching and fund-raising. There is a boy I have known, a great helper and great ballplayer, since he was just a little tyke in the Pee-Wees named Martin. I just found out last night talking to his mother that he is with 82D Airborne Division. That's our guys, right? That's what the address for him says. 82D. Did she maybe miswrite it for 82nd?

LOL, and tell her my back yard is concerned that hair of the hobbit hole might be stressing about it too.

I know nothing of horses, but I do know that they use their mouths to explore. Much like sharks. *grinning*

Glen is pretty uncomfortable around horses. He can't get past the size of their teeth! LOL!

Happy Birthday Hair of the Hobbit Hole.

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Dylan, of course.

I hold no grudges nor do I dislike horses. I just freely admit that they are a foreign subject, albeit one that I would like to know better. From the dog person's point of view I figure I owe it to the critter to get to know it and learn how it likes to be treated before trying to ride the thing. I wouldn't expect a dog to take a liking to me without allowing it some time to sense me therefore, I would not think a horse would want someone ON it without at least a bit more than a dog asks for. Myranda has friends with horses, they were given time to get to know her before she rode them. Seems to me that's the smart thing.

Vell. I'm going home for the day. Getting another package of cards and printed prayers ready to mail off to 2J. Have my dearest friend coming up from near Waco to spend the weekend. Will probably not talk to ya'll more until Monday. Until then, keep it secret - keep it safe.

She did miswrite it...

The 82nd Airborn Division is a broad description of a big force ... There would be parts of the 82nd deployed in different areas. Did she say he was in Afghanistan?

I have a co-worker that I gave much the same speech to as the concept you just expressed.

He was always asking me if he could ride Bay... That in itself is not rude, but it was the way he asked. He would say stuff like:

"So, can Bay run really fast?"
"Can I get on him and run him?"

I said "look Bub, what if I asked the same questions of your wife? Bay is my friend... If *he* likes you, I may let him carry you, if you are gentle, and treat him with some respect, but he is not here to be yanked and cowboyed around by you"

OK! I have updated my profile page! Woo hoo, right?

Is it too wide for anyone's screen? I tried to narrow the pictures to where it would fit even if people don't have their screen resolution set really high.
