Oh my, hilarious thread here. They are really crawling out of the woodwork today as their small world crumbles around them.

I only had my Granny (Mama's Mom)when I was growing up.

AMEN and repeats to those prayers.

Heh.... I need to get on the Flat Frodo thing! - I am excited, if conflicted about sending him off. Can we come up with a better name than that for this project? Can we not call it "There and Back Again?" Give me some hope that he will survive this?

Why don't you make a surrogate Flat Frodo? Maybe even a miniature Flat Frodo?

I'd still say let's make another one to send. I'd hate to see yours all messed up. Especially since you had to spend so much time on his standee...

Well, the big real Frodo standee would would definately photograph best. Artistically, The real on is the way to go. Anything else, would be... well, a cheap substitute. I just need to buck up! Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turnin' back, but they didn't.

Good idea Wn. You could even send something to me via email that I could print and mount on cardboard. He could be at dwarf-moot.

Okay, that guy really makes me mad. It's like a desecration to my kids. And my S-I-L is constantly telling me to let 'em talk because that's exactly what he's fighting for.

I'd like to fight for something too right now. with the granny method.

You have not reached middle age yet. We covered that much much earlier in the thread.

I appreciate your consideration of my sensibilities! Realistically, I have loved having had him here this long, and I know, as a grown up, I can not have him in my living room forever. I think it would be a fun way for us to spend the summer, with ecurbh posting the pics to his web-page. And at the end, I get him back I hope, a tattered and treasured memoir, that would mean more than having him kept pristene here. He would mean something special then!

Mmmm. Could we have a foldable version that would mail or transport easier than your REAL Frodo? I'd be all for that. I really think he would get much too messed up with so much travel. Hobbits, after all, really prefer to remain in the Shire.

He folds in half by design... ends up being about 2 feet square.

I keep changing the criteria for "middle age

As long as the numerical value keeps progressing to a larger quantity, I have no problem with that.

And I have the original cardboard he came with, two pieces of cardboard and some tape and he is shippable.
