Fantasy, driven by reality
So this year, as audiences prepare for Round 2 -- the Nov. 15 release of Warner Bros.' "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and the Dec. 19 opening of New Line's "The Two Towers" -- the fans are very calm. Impatient, but calm.
Which actually makes the filmmakers a little nervous. Because the only thing more daunting than a suspicious audience is a really, really expectant one.

I'll say this is the one I've been expecting. Depressing yes, however from the clips I've seen the battle scenes look absolutely amazing.

This is an LA Times article so I didn't post the actual article. When I saw the title "Fantasy, driven by reality" I thought the thread was about the LA Times...
I like the Potter series, but I really wish they would stop comparing them to LOTR.

With all the election hoopla I hope neither of you forgot that the SE DVD will be out in six days.

MY mind is on the important things!

I personally know nothing first hand about Potter, but all the comparisons between it and LoTR make me not like it.
I am a lifelong Red Sox fan. As a Red Sox fan I have a visceral dislike for the NY Yankees. I am starting to feel the same way about Potter.
We were watching FoTR at the dollar theatre one night and a dad came in a little late and sat down with his wife and kids. One of the little kids said to him, "Dad, they copied Harry Potter!" I wanted to scream at the kid.
It's actually kind of scarey. ;^)

I am starting to feel the same way about Potter. Me too... I have chosen teams, and I am loyal.

Forgotten??? ksen...how long have we been friends?

"Dad, they copied Harry Potter!" Corin, Jr. had the appropriate reaction to FOTR. He said, "This is better than Potter. I want to read the books!"
He made me so proud...(sniff)...

Corin, Jr. had the appropriate reaction to FOTR. He said, "This is better than Potter. I want to read the books!" Then I am petitioning you on his behalf to give him his Playstation rights back. What a good kid. ;^)

Then I am petitioning you on his behalf to give him his Playstation rights back. 1. He has not finished the books...
2. He has his "rights" back, but not in his room (afterall the Playstation is the only way we can play DVDs....)
