Actually, I seriously doubt that. Even in biological warfare, you want to maintain some kind of control. Creating an epidemic with something like currency means you could lose any or most of your sleepers.

Aside from that, I'm not sure how easy it would be to get powerful enough germs to stick to the currency. In addition, you'd have no control over the other organisms that naturally wind up on the money--and some organisms are natural killers of others.

I wouldn't say it could never happen--just that it wouldn't be a particularly good method for reaching a targeted population.

We really don't know.

If such a thing happened, banks and cashiers would be among the first to be afflicted, like post offices and mailrooms were with the anthrax attacks. They deal with lots and lots of cash.
