There is a similar story here in Nashville. Vanderbilt University's starting pitcher (I can't remember his name), is an 18-year old freshman. When he was 17 and still in high school, he was offered a signing bonus of $1.5 million by the Cincinnati Reds and turned it down to attend Vandy. That took some conviction.
Can you imagine being a millionaire at your high school graduation? Of course after taxes he might have had enough to buy a used BMW.
