Predictions on which team will make the biggest reach with their first-rounder?

And on which first-rounder will be this year's 'Ryan Leaf'?

Leaf was a once in ten years proportion bust. I mean, there have been quarterbacks taken very high who have tanked, but I don't think many people thought Andre Ware was going to be the best player out of his draft. Many people thought Leaf would be.

Remember Tony "what's his name"..it began with an "M", I think...the OL picked number one about 15 years ago..he was obviously a steroid nut job....he was about the biggest bust ever...thought the Oklahoma lnebacker Brian..??..came close..

My boys don't have a pick until #86! Jon Gruden had better be worth it!

You mean Tony Mandarich? and Bosworth next...Boz was cut short with injuries, but still a fine talent. It's always the later rounds that net the gems, players like Terrell Davis coming out of nowhere.

There's something hilarious watching Jets fans who have no clue who the Jets just picked, go into default 'boo-mode'.

No, I am not a Jets fan, I am a Giants fan. But I kinda like seeing the Green folk do ok, as long as I can still make fun of them.

Joey Harrington goes to the Lions. The next in a long line of legendary Lion QB's....Mike McMahon(has promise), Charlie Batch, Scott Mitchell, Andre Ware, Rodney Peete, Chuck Long.....

I hope Morninwig can actually develop a QB.

Well, at least I hear the new stadium is going to be nice.

I had always hope that the Lions would go far with Barry Sanders, too bad it didn't happen. One of my favorite NFL memories was seeing Sanders burn the Cowboys for 199 yards at Texas Stadium on a Monday Night. Lions won with an overtime field goal. Some good turkey day upsets in Pontiac, too. For some reason the Lions often rose to the occasion on Thanksgaving.

Honestly, I have always thought the Lions problem was more head coaching than QBing. Batch isn't great, but you could win with batch. McMahon isn't good, but you can get by with McMahon.

One of my favorite Lions' highlights was a Batch/Sanders play. Batch gave the ball to Sanders who ran a fake draw sweep to the right. He got all the way to about 2/3 of the way to the right sideline, and then hit the brakes and reversed field. Batch, who basically had not moved from when he handed the ball off, did not look to block or anything like that. No, as soon as Barry hit the brakes to go the other way, Batch turned his back on the play, made the ref's "TD" signal with his arms, and started walking off the field as Barry ran past him and the defense, scoring on a 20 yard run at the left sideline after he ran about 45 yards on the play.

Great story.

BTW, I think the "Chrysanthemum? But she got cat!" spot has got to be headed to the TV commercial hall of fame. It STILL makes me laugh.
