No, I am not a Jets fan, I am a Giants fan. But I kinda like seeing the Green folk do ok, as long as I can still make fun of them.
I hope Morninwig can actually develop a QB.
I had always hope that the Lions would go far with Barry Sanders, too bad it didn't happen. One of my favorite NFL memories was seeing Sanders burn the Cowboys for 199 yards at Texas Stadium on a Monday Night. Lions won with an overtime field goal. Some good turkey day upsets in Pontiac, too. For some reason the Lions often rose to the occasion on Thanksgaving.
One of my favorite Lions' highlights was a Batch/Sanders play. Batch gave the ball to Sanders who ran a fake draw sweep to the right. He got all the way to about 2/3 of the way to the right sideline, and then hit the brakes and reversed field. Batch, who basically had not moved from when he handed the ball off, did not look to block or anything like that. No, as soon as Barry hit the brakes to go the other way, Batch turned his back on the play, made the ref's "TD" signal with his arms, and started walking off the field as Barry ran past him and the defense, scoring on a 20 yard run at the left sideline after he ran about 45 yards on the play.
BTW, I think the "Chrysanthemum? But she got cat!" spot has got to be headed to the TV commercial hall of fame. It STILL makes me laugh.
