You are right. The 1911 Edition of the Britannica is a classic; written before the age of "political correctness." Its authors had opinions and were not afraid to state them.

If you can find a set, buy it and keep it. It can only go up in value.

One of the most dreadful developments is that the Britannica Publishers have ceased publication of the encyclopaedia entirely. This will be the death of culture. Our history will be forgotten and unretrievable. It will mean the final dumbing-down of our civilization.
