Time is the problem. I have ideas out the wazoo; I have a hundred-page start to a novel but got writers' block, and new ideas hit me all the time. Like the sleight-of-hand magician who ends up in a world with real magic, or the band of space fighter pilots who find out their real enemy isn't out there...
I have a few ideas, too. And I think a little skill at turning a phrase from time to time. But it is my left brained overly disciplined perfectionism that sinks me every time. I need a huge block of time to just brainstorm and regurgitate all the stuff floating around in my head in order to let it pass through some sort of seive, through which I can sort later for the few nuggets of real gold which I believe would be there.
But to find the time! Alas, time is money, as they say, and my family needs the money, and they need my time as well. But I really would love to find out sometime just what those nuggets would be.....
