My...it didn't take you guys long to corrupt him, did it?
We just recognize potential when we see it.
What do you mean, "You guys?"
I reserve the right to bash Haldir. And [occasionally] Elrond.
Yep, that's me behind the camera. I was taking a picture of the local chapter of the Blue Mountain Dwarf Lodge #109 after our Last Alliance Day celebration. ;^)
I guess I felt like as a second-time mom, I shouldn't be afraid of something as "armless" as cutting her nails. Was I ever wrong!
My mom came in right after it happened, along with my husband and my other daughter. They all said "What did you do!?" I felt so terrible (and still do). I get woozy just thinking about her screams and the blood.
I'll stick with the file or biting until she's older.
I know, I know...the attitude of that grocery store has made me rebellious...sent me on the road to perdition! ;-)
One Elf at a time......
Is there a contest or something? Remember I'm new to the Shire.
Yeah, Rosie. What do you mean, "you guys". I think it was OT that pushed me over the edge by agreeing that elves were all leftist democrats. When I heard that, there was no turning back....
And what do you mean, "corrupt"?
I hear ya. To be honest, I'm dreading the holidays this year. Really not looking forward to them at all. I miss Mom terribly on a daily basis, but that is going to seriously mess me up, I'm afraid. Dad, too, and to an extent the younger ones. It will be somewhat easier once a year has passed, but as it is, the holidays and special occasions are even harder than the normal days.
I had to figure it out for myself, so I think I'll let you have the same thrill of discovery... Think round....think precious.....
Here's what Aragorn said to Boromir during the Council of Elrond:
'If Gondor, Boromir, has been a stalwart tower, we have played another part. Many evil things there are that your strong walls and bright swords do not stay. You know little of the lands beyond your bounds. Peace and freedom, do you say? The North would have known them little but for us. Fear would have destroyed them. But when dark things come from the houseless hills, or creep from sunless woods, they fly from us. What roads would any dare to tread, what safety would there be in quiet lands, or in the homes of simple men at night, if the Dúnedain were asleep, or were all gone into the grave?'
'And yet less thanks have we than you. Travellers scowl at us, and countrymen give us scornful names. "Strider" I am to one fat man who lives within a day's march of foes that would freeze his heart, or lay his little town in ruin, if he were not guarded ceaselessly. Yet we would not have it otherwise. If simple folk are free from care and fear, simple they will be, and we must be secret to keep them so. That has been the task of my kindred, while the years have lengthened and the grass has grown.'
I think he's referring to Butterbur in the second paragraph. :)
