I'm gonna FAINT!!
I don't think it was just the Shire they were protecting....they were also protecting Bree-country. I have the impression that since the Rangers were descended from the folks of the northern kingdom that they were just there still protecting the kingdom. How about this? They gave the Shire special protection because Gandalf suspected the ring might be the One but at least knew that it was a ring of power.
If dad is around have him do it. Here's what I would do:
Grab tooth with Kleenex right up by the gums. Say, "Okay honey, I am going to pull on the count of three." One......Two (yank!)....Three!
Worked like a charm.
Excuse me?
You better fetch your medicine before reading #29283.....
Hard headed they may be, but certainly no other race upon Middle Earth looks out for their own self-interest more than they do. I cannot see how they would be careless with something as important as that.
Dwarves do not want anyone in office who would meddle with their personal affairs or impose regulations on thier precious mountains.
Orcs on the other hand are mindless, drooling fools whose brains would indeed be challenged by a butterfly ballot.
I came as soon as I could....
Ugh! I accidently cut my youngest's finger when clipping her nails (she's 3 months old). The blood and her screams had me seeing stars, but I kept it together long enough to get her to the doctor and then to the emergency room. All she needed was a big gauze bandage.
I will never use clippers on her again! All the nurses told me to use a soft nail file. That's what I will use from now on.
I should have known better from the start, but I had clipped them several times already with no incident and felt sure nothing would happen. Until she learned how to yank her arm back, that is.
Yes, but most of 'em probably voted for the other tree...
24th Century Dwarves?
Turncoat.
