How Republicans Lost The Senate, And What It Could Cost Them

Posted on 11/08/2026 7:11:54 AM PST by DIRTYSECRET

Democrats hold 54 seats, and two races are still being counted. In Mississippi/Alaska I expect Democrats to win both.

Republicans nominated candidates who couldn’t win, and in most of those races, Donald Trump made the pick.

Republicans still hold the White House and that conservatives still have a 6-3 majority on the Supreme Court. Those checks will last only as long as Republicans keep winning elections, and the next two cycles look dangerous.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Pretty straightforward. Sounds to me like Trump got a little cocky. The left will celebrate-think black America when they heard the O.J. verdict. Combine that with the muslim and communist vote our only hope is to fan the flames of the differences amongst them. Don't count on the younger generation to 'get it'.

Loss of the Senate predicates the possible loss of the future for America.

The Supreme Court court is a key issue in the years ahead.

While Trump will be president for the next two years, with Democrats having a comfortable margin in the Senate, there’s no way a good conservative justice can be confirmed.

And yes, I know. We have to acknowledge that Trump’s three Supreme Court nominees are too liberal for many people here. So I know people will say, Trump doesn’t nominate conservatives to the Court anyway.

But this could go beyond Trump. Even if a Republican wins the 2028 election, the Senate is still going to be controlled by Democrats into the next decade. Look for Kavanaugh style tactics to be used against anyone nominated by a Republican president, either Trump, or if the next president is Republican.

Republicans are a minority of registered voters.

And the Texas election was an experiment on de-RINOing the Republican Party. How FReepers cheered, “get rid of Cornyn, need to primary Thune, etc, etc”.

OK. Without RINOs, the national GOP is at 35% or less. THAT RINO-less GOP will never win another statewide or national election.

Repeat after me: “Trump was elected by Democrats and Independents. Without them, he would not have become President. They supported him because he was a National Populist, not because he was a “Republican”. Now that he has stabbed them in the back, and we have kicked out the RINOs, the GOP is in danger of extinction”.

The rump GOP has zero appeal to Trump Democrats and Trump Independents.

Say it a couple of times and you will feel better.

This is what happens when you don’t run good candidates. when you let the other side controls the media because your side won’t buy media. It is a shame. I sincerely hope the people who run the GOP ed up paying more taxes since they deserve it. When it comes to legislating that appears the only thing they are willing to spend political capitol on.

There aren’t enough White people to keep republicans in power especially when too many “minorities” only care about increasing their control of America

Trump ignored campaign promises, made stupid decisions, lied to himself, and his dead ender supporters bought it. He was the ballot. Trump even fired pollsters who didnt tell him what he wanted to hear, specifically Mark Mitchell who rebuilt Rasmussen and was the most accurate in 2024.

People here aren't going to want to hear it but I predict that Trump is going to meet with the new congress after they convene in January and say, "Let's play ball."

What does he have to lose? He's not worried about re-election.

I predict we're gonna get Medicare for All only Trump is gonna call it Trumpcare. "Greatest health care plan ever! Obamacare was garbage and I ended it! I threw it in the trash where it belongs! Everyone has Trumpcare now and trust me, you're gonna love it!"

I predicted in 2015 that Trump would have a national health care plan, and that everyone would get a “Trump Card” to use at the point of access.

The system is obviously in much worse shape 11 years later, if it completely collapses before it can be re-invented there will be a lot of unnecessary suffering.

Now, the fact that he appointed Mehmet Oz to oversee Medicare and Medicaid doesn’t fill me with hope but you never know...

Its real easy.
Its Donnie sticking his arrogant clueless DEAD WRONG NOSE in our primaries and then campaigning driving up the Dem turnout wherever he went
and pushing his usual disaster picks.
He did this in 2018 with the similar results.
The unpopular somewhat senile Loser must resign before he kills our 2028 chances, but he won’t willingly his Massive Inside trading scheme run by his sons.
Hopefully, The Dems corruption hearings may force him out and we get Vance.
