Where to begin when it seems it's the end?
This 2026 Republican loss of both House AND Senate was totally preventable and inexcusably unconscionable. The blame is fairly evenly spread but the fact remains that this should never have happened at a time when America's enemies, foreign and domestic, were on the ropes gasping their seeming last breaths after the best President we've had since Reagan overcame all obstacles to finish them off - using up the last of his mortal lifetime to do so.
Not that Donald Trump is blameless. We've seen the signs of diminishment that advanced age brings on us all if we get there. He's gets stuck in story-telling that served him so well throughout campaigns and too often cites his accomplishments in self-promotion mode, which reinforces the aura of egotism that makes so many people dislike him. He's also pursued the war with Iran as if they were an opposing business interest across a boardroom table, susceptable to the right sort of compromise or deal if the right formula is found. "Yuge" mistake, as they are fanatical savages adhering to a death cult with no regard for their country, their citizens or even self-preservation. As President he needs to see them for the implacable foes they are and eradicate them for Iran's populace, the planet's relief from their never-ending campaign of terror and the souls and memories of all whom that terror has destroyed.
Then we have the Republican Party. While the Democrats have rapidly moved from left-of-center to anti-Constitutional communists the Republicans have stayed their straight and steady course - following the Democrats' lead even when holding the majority of government. What the hell use are you if you're just the glorified asssistant to lesser, evil beings to the detriment of your constituants and the entire country? The people don't elect you to be the lesser of two evils. They elect you with hope that you stand up for them, our nation and the person who looks back at you in the mirror. If that image makes you cringe pack it up and let a better person do the job.
Now we have BIG TROUBLE AHEAD. The Democrats will do away with the filibuster that the Republicans should have when they had the chance. They'll attempt to create two new Democrat-dominated states out of Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia with an eye toward doing the same to other territories. They will expand the Supreme Court from nine to thirteen or more. Those are the givens.
They will LIKELY reverse immigration policy back to Biden-era negligence, reversing Trump's hard-won improvements to increase illegal immigration, human/child trafficking, drugs and all the associated crime, chaos and social disruption that goes along with it. They will encourage more Muslim and Third-world migration and establish policies similar to European nations that have allowed Islam to push freedoms aside while those country's natural-born citizens are renderd powerless to oppose it.
They will continue pushing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy that opposes true civil rights, desegregation and reward for innovation, merit and hard work. They will continue pushing misuse of language to perpetuate "politically correct" delusional thinking to make normal people conform to their warped idea of standards. What remains of womens' sports will die.
They will rebuild the Department of Education and insure it doubles down on leftist indoctrination. They will try to outlaw home schooling.
They will reverse Secretary Hegseth's reforms and actively make the military a portal for free sexual transition surgeries and recuperation centers.
They will probably try to revive an agency to monitor and supress language and expression they don't approve of. They will bully the computing industry to help accomplish that. You may find a law enforcement type accusing you of having had too much to think tonight.
All this because some of you didn't have the sense to comprehend that fuel (and all things dependent on it) is expensive because Democrat policies screwed up energy policy, thwarted abundant energy sources and forbade economically feasable refining. That the corrections to these bad policies take years to establish visible improvement and the benefits that President Trump has worked for will be enjoyed during the destructive Democrats' reign - and they'll totally take credit for it when it arrives.
I can only surmise that God has finally turned His back on the United States after generations of bad leadership have done all they could to remove all influence and due credit to His blessings. I thank Him that I've but a few years at most to endure the unnecessary hell that's been made of His gift to us. Enjoy.

Earlier this year, we were told that the redistricting would keep Republicans in power for years. But Republicans are not loyal to Republicans like Democrats are to Democrats.

Is it just me or have there been more Vanity posts going up today than any other Wednesday morning? What if everyone did that? Maybe it’d be a good idea. WTF, let it all hang out. But then again, I just don’t know.
It’s actually much worse than reversals. That happened under Biden. Now it is enshrining evil.
The rate of growth of the IslamoComminist power within the levers of political control within the country is nothing short of astounding. This isn’t a case of an occasional AOC, this is sweeping and reflects a fundamental change in the political dynamic. It is not a case of “correction” or “change” it is destruction of all established norms. With this new crew, there will be no moderation. What can’t be established by legislative action, will be achieved by extralegal judicial means and force if necessary.
It isn’t a “pendulum”. It is a boulder crashing down on the glass case that holds the Constitution in the National Archives .
You have been warned
With a Republican as President, much of what you suggest will not take place for two years.
If anyone loves losing, keep holding your nose to vote for RINOs, open borders and insecure elections.
We need the figures on those of us who didn’t show up on our side. Compare it to the last mid-term. Do it the same with the rats. Trump was there for us. He led and we didn’t follow. This was nation-wide. Our losses were not close.
Truth. We put Trump in when a lot of the Rs in congress didn’t want him. They were never his allies.
Then force it will be. They have no off switch, but do not desperately. People were incensed about gas prices and we had no message. Time to go home n offense’s, rip the left apart.
You being positive, wow!
Welcome to Pottersville
Not only what you point out but the republicans seem to be more happy being in the minority party. Everytime they have the majority they screw it up. It looks suspiciously on purpose.
The Evil Ones are emboldened now. They see what they are capable of. 2028 will see them storm the White House and Halls of Congress like a zombie horde. Today is the beginning of the end for the GOP.
I haven’t checked in detail, but at a glance it appears the Republicans still hold the edge in state legislatures. That will limit what the clown car democrats in Congress and the governorships can do. The nation decisively rejected Trump. That doesn’t mean that red states are ready to commit suicide.
Democrats in Congress will of course attempt to nationalize everything to eliminate the ability of people and businesses to vote with their feet. They will push hard to get Trump to sign big comprehensive bills that will do this. I have no idea whether Trump will agree or be content to be an embattled opposition president under constant investigation and threat of impeachment.
I’m not optimistic. Trump has always wanted to operate on the Sun King plan of the imperial presidency. He will make it easy for democrats and the media to pin every failure over the next two years on him.

“With a Republican as President, much of what you suggest will not take place for two years.”
In 2028, after 4 years of Trump’s miracle work on the economy, the Dems will be positioned to claim credit for all the good things that will make America strong, while promising unicorn dreams to the weak minded. And please don’t say the people are too smart to be hoodwinked!
The one good thing, if there is any ray of sunshine in the results, is that AOC was not running. She’d have wafted into the Whitehouse on butterfly wings come January.
I sensed a great disturbance in The Force.
Seriously. I've rarely posted an essay of my own but felt the need to share what I'm seeing at this historical juncture. There are too many forces at work from too many sides all working in concert for the United State's downfall. I barely scratched the surface.
Only the UN is more useless than congressional republicans. If they had 300 house seats and 65 senators they still wouldn’t accomplish anything meaningful.
Maybe it is time some Texas GOP mid decade-post election redistricting.
