ChatGPT told her what she wanted to hear. Now she's dead.
Should the family recover damages?
Nope.
Stupid people have been doing stupid things for a long, long time. This does not justify a pay day for their stupid parents.
Here’s one for AI. Download Rush Limbaugh for 30 years of his archives and have AI fight with the leftist version. Would it be better than watching Al Sayad debate Rogers? Save us a lot of time and effort.
Won’t need elections any more.
My lawsuit against Eliza on the TRS-80 Model 1 also failed.
Doesn’t ChatGPT clearly state that you should always consult your doctor and not take their advice without consulting?
Throw out the case.
Following medical advice on an electronic device is stupid. She is responsible for her own stupidity.
I would be interested in seeing what her prompts were.
Hey, modern-day “journalism” is not about presenting a full story. It’s best to leave huge gaps in the narrative and people not ask questions. Of course, yours is the first question that comes to mind, and I’m wondering the same thing.
Unfortunately, most juries do not have a courageous black dude in them to stand up for law, justice, and common sense.
“My lawsuit against Eliza on the TRS-80 Model 1 also failed.”
“Tell me more about that, Doctor”
Yes, they all have that standard disclaimer.
ChatGPT or any other AI is a glorified search engine. This is like suing Google or some other search engine for using a Google search engine to look up medical advice and following it. People are personalizing AI as if it is a person giving them advice. It says more about the people using the AI than the AI.
I’ve used Chat and Claude many times for medical insight. They state clearly, they are not doctors and that their advice can be wrong sometimes. I always use their info as a starting point to do my own research. I can also say never once has either suggested I go against me doctor’s orders on meds or treatments. Don’t know what this woman was asking, but they do follow your prompts.
How does that make you feel?
Exactly. It’s a way to learn enough to ask the right questions of the doctor or being up stuff you might not have thought relevant.

Doctors are using AI and will do so extensively in the future, but patients will have the same level of recourse as in the past. These idiots may as well sue a witch doctor or snake oil salesman.
There is also a ton of stupid information for morons about other diseases and miracle cures.
These "Artificial Intelligence" sites are neither artificial nor intelligent.
