Former President Barack Obama took to the campaign trail over the weekend to rejuvenate Democratic voters and take aim at President Donald Trump. He offered a snarky remark about Trump’s renovations to the White House that, like many of the criticisms Obama makes, didn’t really make any sense.
The 44th president blasted Trump for installing gilded architectural modifications and decorations, making a senseless comment connecting Saddam Hussein and the Cheesecake Factory. As humorless as it actually was, it does present the president with a wonderful opportunity: Trump should work a shift at Cheesecake Factory.
“What’s with the gold?” said Obama. “He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.”
I get that this was supposed to be funny, and many in the crowd during Obama’s speech did indeed laugh. Additionally, many of Trump’s rivals, opponents, and critics also claimed to find it amusing. And while humor is indeed subjective, it is safe to say that the former president’s quip didn’t make much sense.
First, Saddam has been dead since 2006. Second, I’m not sure which Cheesecake Factory Obama has ever been to, but there aren’t any gold displays throughout the restaurant. The restaurant’s decor typically features a Mediterranean aesthetic and Egyptian columns. Neither of those is gold or connected to Hussein, but I digress.
It was one of those attempted insults that sound better than they actually are.

Obama needs to leave the stage. He was horrible president. Even worse as an ex-president. Go away and stay away already.
He was always good at hearing other people say things while trying to be clever or witty, and repeating their words as if they were his own.

His joke delivery is cringe worthy.
He could also do a turn with a demolition company - they blow up buildings that look better than Obama’s trashcan every day.

President Obama was a mediocre President who was elected out of sympathy for his race and with little understanding of the power of the office. He never built anything or dealt with powerful people in business or government. He worked as a civil rights lawyer for a few years before running for Illinois State Senator. Like most liberals, he believed in projecting a false piety and humility, as with his bizarre holiday decorations made of newspaper and magazines.
In contrast, President Trump was driven from an early age to seek and use power without shame or guilt. He became a real estate billionaire, making deals with rich and powerful people around the world. When he visited heads of state in foreign countries, he saw how they projected their personal power through their palaces and land holdings. He saw how shoddy and austere the White House looked compared with government houses in the Middle East and China, and corrected it to project the lifestyle of a powerful leader.
Along with displays of B-2 flybys and military equipment, the White House under President Trump reflects our standing as a wealthy and powerful nation, proud of our accomplishments and unashamed.
Great idea. Problem is it wouldn’t work as good as the McDonalds or the garbage truck gig. You see Kamala was floundering and Trump tossed her an anchor. How often do you see the Kenyan in public? People are ok with his disdain for them and they eat it up.
My idea: Trump is working as a waiter and an Al Sayed look-alike customer angrily complains “there’s a fly in my soup!” Trump tries to calm him down but to no avail so he pours the soup on the guy. Don’t you think the Putins, Xi’s, and the Jung Un’s will notice?
The Michigan senate rase will be the most closely watched.
