That Talarico phone call
American Thinker ^ | 13 Oct, 2026 | J.R. Dunn

It seems that the Talarico clinic phone call supposedly verifying that he spent time at the Lindner Center of Hope clinic in Ohio is a washout. Talarico was seen in Austin a day before he was supposedly “released.” This is a shame, since it acts as an embarrassment to conservatives and creates a measure of cover for Talarico, who has yet to explain what he was doing for the two weeks he vanished into the eighth dimension.

The call was said to be taped by Rhein Amacher on Saturday the 10th and published by Nick Sortor on his X page. The recording is very convincing; it features a harried and evidently not too bright staffer who seems pretty well up on the age scale. At one point she corrects the caller as to where the clinic is actually located.

But that’s where the questions begin. To start, “harried” and “Saturday” don’t really mesh under these circumstances. A high-class clinic such as this one is unlikely to be overwhelmed with activity during a weekend, particularly one located in the backwoods of southern Ohio, far from the madding crowd. The “not too bright” also rings false. A clinic of this type is going to hire the best they can get – grandmothers at loose ends coming in part-time are not going to make the cut.

There’s also the HIPAA question. HIPAA regulations are extremely ferocious about releasing patient information. The section dealing with penalties is lengthy and detailed. For inadvertent, unintentional offenses, the fine can rise to $50,000. For a criminal release of info, it’s up to $250,000 and ten years in jail. Believe you me, playmates, all personnel at such clinics are going to have that drilled into their heads using the Ludovico process,

I bet they thought they had a mole in the camp but the “mole” was playing them.

Why should I be embarrassed? For asking questions?

Think of mixing metaphors, except this being a situation wherein misdirectives are getting mixed.

It was just a hoax if you believe that he was really spotted in Austin the day before.

Whose timeline is more accurate?

I don't think the author is saying that asking questions is wrong or even that Talarico was not in this mental health facility. He is just saying that the phone call was probably fake.

“He is just saying that the phone call was probably fake.”

If it was an actual genuine fake call, then no one at the hospital violated HIPAA laws, and that leaves it to the Talarico campaign to prove that he was not at that hospital.

"Was it just a hoax?"

A well-crafted one to make Sorter look bad? Possibly true. But why would they go to that measure?

I agree with the article that we often fly off the handle and run with sketchy or anecdotal information sometimes ending up with egg on our collective faces, but the Obama birth certificate I think is an exception.

The document that ultimately was supposedly the final word on Obama's birthright was proven to be a modern fabrication and not the original. Was that a purposeful deception, intended to throw skeptics on a long forensic trail of dead-ends? If so, our political enemies are far more devious than we believe.

I heard on Bannon a couple of days ago that a private plane flew from Austin to a nearby town to the hospital and then returned to Austin again. Has that been discounted?

I look at like this. Sortor may be trying to help Paxton. Paxton defeated Cornyn, and the RINOs like Mitch McConnell are still upset over that. It is rumored that RINOs like Mitch have contributed to this particular clinic.

It could be that those who are butthurt about Cornyn losing did this to tarnish Paxton.

This is all pure speculation on my part, but it is a possible explanation.

There was a private jet flight from Austin Texas to Hamilton Ohio on the 8th of October and the jet flew back to Austin around 9 am on the 9th of October.

That is a fact

On the phone call with Sorter, the nurse said that Talarico had been released “24- 48 hours ago” which is about right to fit that time line and is entirely consistent with the appearance of Talarico in Austin

“This is all pure speculation on my part”? You just nailed the entire Media as it exists today. In reality, we have no clue as to what is real or not, but he politics are driving this story. The funny thing is that if the writer is right, then it will backfire on the Democrats anyway, because it is right out of their playbook. The damage is already done, whether it is true or not.

Mason Ohio is not some backwater little burg. It is an upper class bedroom community for Cincinnati where are great deal of lawyers, doctors, engineers and other highly educated professionals reside. The Lindner Center is highly regarded. As to staffing on weekends, these are always retirees willing to make a few extra bucks manning the phones.

I know the place and region quite well as I was born and raised there. This article is off-base in multiple ways. Let the fellow who disclosed the conversation reveal his phone records to verify the existence and length of the call.

This is true, but at least I can say that this is pure guesswork on my part. They never do that. They come up with something and then publish it as fact.

Rumors?

The Lindner family is a famous conservative family in the area. The current patriarch was appointed to the Kennedy Center board by DJT back in 2019. His dad previously owned part of the Reds.

That’s what has made this whole stupid disaster even more ridiculous.

Some internet fraudster - this ‘ticklemonster’ person on twitter, who has multiple fraud convictions and apparently got kicked off Truth Social for scamming people - finds this stupid instance of a private plane flying from Austin to Hamilton (as if Austin and Hamilton are places NOBODY travels to!). Then, another fraudster actually commits a crime (yes, pretending to be a relative to get HIPAA-protected information about a patient is a crime) and doctors a phone call.

Now here we are.

Idiots.

If you’re going to play at dirty tricks, at least be good at it, and at least make it less ridiculous.

Have you ever been to Austin? Probably more mental health facilities there than in la-la land.

It wouldn’t surprise me if El Freako *was* at one of them.

But sure, he flew to Ohio to a facility started by a wealthy Republican family for treatment.

Come on.

I used to manage switchboards for hospitals, including a mental health facility. No one would ever give out patient information over the phone. No one. This is especially true in the behavioral health facility.

In a general hospital environment patients are asked if they want to be on the “census” when they are admitted. During my time we had a couple of “celebrities” on the floors. The staff off the floor didn’t even know they were there until they were gone.

Patient privacy is a big, big deal.

This thing smelled bad from the start.
