DSA civil war brewing over Mamdani’s Oct. 7 response, support of NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch

The Iron Curtain is cracking.

A civil war is brewing inside the DSA over its support of Mayor Zohran Mamdani — with his socialist comrades up in arms over his attendance at an Oct. 7 vigil and his support of NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

Youth chapters within the New York City Democratic Socialists of America endorsed a protest outside City Hall Wednesday — on the anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel — condemning the mayor’s “failures to uphold his commitment to the Palestinian Liberation Movement.”

Sources said that the heads of the local chapter moved swiftly to try to tamp down the public criticism of youth chapters who had endorsed the rally.

But Mamdani was still heckled by the protesters during a candlelit vigil for the victims later Wednesday at Union Square.

“Zohran you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide,” they chanted at Hizzoner, who remained stone-faced through the jeers from his anti-Israel comrades.

Screenshots of internal group chats from NYC-DSA’s “Anti-War Working Group” obtained by The Post show members raging after leadership apparently threatened to pull the youth chapters’ funding and told them to stop using “pro-hamas dogwhistles” — calling it “unambiguously racist” and “inexcusable.”

The members of the group chat were up in arms over an Instagram post from Hunter College’s Youth DSA chapter — which had endorsed the City Hall rally — claiming that NYC-DSA leaders threatened the youth chapters’ funding.

“F------ DISGUSTING,” one wrote.

“I’m out of things to say with this chapter’s leadership. It’s just nonstop horses–t,” another chimed in.

One member even offered to use their “status as a Jew w/ family in the entity” to help respond to the brouhaha.

I saw a sign and heard the chant to Mamdani of “how many kids did you kill today?” from the old days against Lyndon B. Johnson about Vietnam.

This fragmentation over Israel by the Left is going to set back the movement toward whirled peas.🫛🫛

Suspicious cat bristles.

IMO this ‘internal struggle’ thing is all to *insulate* the islamists from the obvious conclusion that they’re islamist communist scum.

If the ‘hard-core’ is revolting against Mamdani, well, by implication he must be really sort of moderate after all, right? Trying for wealth taxes, laughing at 9/11, don’t look at what he’s doing, just look how the scary bad people are mad at him. It’s ok. Relax.

In November the so-called angry people will all vote straight D for anything blue and the Ds hope the normies are fooled again.

Oh this is too precious. We get to watch in real time what happens with communism. If you don’t toe the party line, you are destroyed. I hope enough people understand what they’re seeing, even if they’re ignorant of history, because this playbook repeats every... damn... time.

I dunno. This kind of reminds me of a methane bubble rising to the top and popping in a foul swamp.
