FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. – Two juveniles were arrested and their parent charged Friday after multiple fights at a fast-food restaurant in Fairview Heights.
According to a spokesperson for the Fairview Heights Police Department, an officer was monitoring a crowd of approximately 250 teenagers who gathered at the Raising Cane’s and parking lots along Highway 159 after following local high school football games.
An employee called the officer and reported a fight had started in the restaurant between two females. The officer arrived moments later but the females had left.
The officer then saw a large fight closer to the Taco Bell and went into the crowd to disperse the teenagers. Police said the officer saw a juvenile male punching a juvenile female. The juvenile male was arrested.
Additional officers arrived in the parking lots from surrounding jurisdictions and heard a verbal altercation between two boys. Officers ordered the boys to clear out. One of the boys left but the other juvenile refused to vacate the premises.
Police said the juvenile lunged at the officer with his fists in a fighting position. The juvenile then tripped over a bush and was taken into custody. The second juvenile was actually the brother of the first boy.
The brothers were taken to the Fairview Heights Police Department, processed, and then released to a parent. The kids will be charged through the juvenile court. The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged the parent with failure to supervise.
The police spokesperson said the department will strictly enforce loitering and is warning parents that they will also be charged.

A thousand pardons. East St Louis.
I explained to him that wasn't the smartest thing they could have done.
Gangs don't care why you're there on "their turf"....especially four white boys.
Thankful nothing happened to them.
