To be frank, those populations have higher instances of HIV and AIDS due to very specific behaviors, along with the very specific behaviors of recreational IV drug users. They also tend to be promiscuous (to make money for drugs or because they’re high and will boff anything) and share needles, not to mention the drug use prevalent amongst the gay population.
I don’t see anyone defending the junkies, do you?
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officially banned blood donations from incarcerated individuals in 1995, explicitly excluding prisoners from the eligible blood donor population. Prior to this formal ban, the federal government had already ruled in the early 1980s that inmate plasma was unsafe for manufacturing domestic blood products due to high risks of HIV and hepatitis. However, a loophole allowed private contractors to continue harvesting prison plasma and exporting it internationally until the program was entirely shut down in 1994 following major contamination scandals as prison blood was the key problem to bring the issue to light.
The action of selling donated blood from prisons was a major problem with the Clintons as when their blood from the Arkansas prisons wsa not allowed to be sold nationally, they went international to Canada and some of the supply leaked back into the US.
Bill was identified as the governor of Arkansas at the time of the blood sales but thanks to their attorney Vince Foster he escaped any real identification in the issue. However, Foster was murdered, called suicide, after the issue was escaped and Foster’s business partner and head of security in Little Rock, Jerry Parks, was gunned down and his computer seized right afterwards.

They want to be seen as normal. They are not normal, and no amount of media or rainbow flags will make them normal. They are an abomination.
What the FDA bent over backwards to do, against all common sense, is to do just that by applying the same standards to every donor. But that's not good enough.
Because the new standards had a "disparate impact" on homosexual men, the "discrimination" continues according to this stupid author. But no one is forcing them to have butt sex or inject party drugs.

Thank you so much as I know a fine young man who needed blood. Got tainted blood. Tests HIV+. Can’t have children with his beautiful wife, because they don’t want to pass this onto a baby/child. Hope you are happy with your deadly choices.

The HIV epidemic spread in big degree by tainted blood.
Red Cross was sued and had to pay big$$$ presumably because they neglected precautions to prevent HIV spreading.
So they implemented strict precautions and they worked.
But now, about the same people who demanded precautions (WOKE lawyers, I presume), are demanding to throw these precautions away, just to satisfy somebody’s bad feelings?!
I bet, when lots of innocent transfusion recipients get sick, they will turn around again!
If you are diseased you need to stay away from all others, even thru the blood system.
As to defending junkies, come out to anywhere in CaCaLand. We spent billions of US taxpayer $$ and did nothing about the street bums. Nothing except set up a massive bag of dosh for the politicos to skim to fund their campaigns.
The only impact is that the number of street bums only decreases when some die.
At this point, I don't think we'll be allowed to know if that happened. It would be severe egg on the face of the Gaystapo, from which they would probably never recover. They will do whatever it takes to keep that from being leaked.
I have been disqualified from giving blood because I was on Europe for over 6 months in the early 80s due to mad cow disease there.
I think that restriction has been lifted.
