The Albanese government is open to considering associate member status with the European Union despite threats issued by US President Donald Trump.

EU Parliament President Roberta Metsola put the idea on the table following an address by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney where he welcomed the possibility of becoming an "associate member" of the Union.

Ms Metsola said Australia and New Zealand were among the countries "with which we want to deepen our relationship".

Albanese is definitely a WEF/Davos person. Luxon of NZ, not so sure.

But notice the pattern: Trudeau, Freeland, Ardern, Schwab...strutting like cocks of the walk during the Covid tyranny, and became lightning rods (because of the things they were doing to people), disappearing out of the public eye only to have people like Carney of Canada installed.

My theory:
I don't think they were expecting Trump and on a broader perspective, MAGA to persevere, and they're not so sure they have the ability to bring the US 'back into the fold', Looks like an attempt of encirclement. (GB, Aus, Canada, NZ are four of the 5 eyes, btw).

Liberalism has always been a global belief system.
I think it is one of the frogs that emanate from the Dragon Revelations 16.

The other is Islam.

But I’m not sure what the third one might be, if not false Christianity. All of the heretical Christian faiths, like the Prosperity Gospel.

They are planning to use this to extract $ from us when the RATs regain the WH.

I’m guessing the cold civil war will go hot when the next RAT administration begins their pogroms.

Why would anyone want to hitch themselves to an entity that is circling the drain? As the old say goes...America innovates, China replicates, the EU regulates and stagnates. It’s like wanting to board the Titanic after she struck the iceberg. 20 years ago the EU GDP was 90 percent of ours. Today it’s 70 percent. The EU is deindustrializing and their fixation with green energy is going to destroy them.

Obama confused Australia with Austria. You seem to have confused Australia with Alberta.

The British Empire disappeared in name and formal structure, but did some part of it remain under the surface, and/or merge with other globalist movements? Unseen ties of finance/banking, top-down political control? NGOs and cultural organizations - that spread even into US Federal Govt itself?

It’s interesting who is publicly aligning against Trump, and has the most coordinated public vitriol against him - certainly Canada (Carney’s role is obvious), South Africa, now Australia and London/Brussels. All while they run the same textbook globalist migration, business, and social-engineering schemes across their own countries. Is that just a coincidence?

Meanwhile Trump is attempting to maintain cordial relations with both China and Russia.

Makes one wonder.....

quite frankly I find the BRICS as hot air.

it started off as a Goldman Sachs marketing term and now it is a series of junkets that diplomats can go to enjoy holidays paid for by their governments without actually doing anything

I agree. They want to isolate US and wait Trump out.

That’s why you gotta make sure to create the conditions of being able to wait them out instead.

Not only have they followed the EU lead down the rabbit hole into poverty, crime & lower living standards through Green Energy scams, net zero, DEI,& unfettered immigration, now they want to give the globalists power to drag them further off a cliff.

GDP per Capita: In 1980, Canada and the United States were essentially tied in GDP per capita, and Canada ranked near the top globally (6th in 1981). By 2026, U.S. per-capita GDP has pulled ahead by roughly 56%, while Canada has slipped to 12th or lower among advanced economies.Productivity Growth: Canada’s economic growth relies increasingly on population expansion rather than output or technological investment. Sluggish business investment and lower capital spending have resulted in persistent per-capita declines.

Australia The Bottom Line: If “standard of living” is defined by technology, entertainment, and safety, 2026 is vastly superior to 1980. But if it is defined by financial security, housing affordability, and upward mobility, the average Australian in 2026 is working significantly harder just to stay afloat.
