EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Police departments across the country are celebrating national police women’s day.
Some Chippewa Valley women in law enforcement say they usually don’t have issues regarding their gender from within their departments.
“When it comes to law enforcement, and being female, there’s certainly differences that you experience and I feel like it’s more related to the public and perception of female officers,” said Olivia Erl, the Patrol Lieutenant of the Eau Claire Police Department.
“But the bottom line is I come here to do my job and serve the community like everybody else does,” said Chief Kelly Bakken of the Altoona Police Department.
While there might be some hardships based on gender perceptions, it goes for everybody in law enforcement.
“There’s also advantages to being female in law enforcement. Females in law enforcement do add that dynamic,” Chief Bakken said. “There’s often times where an investigation will happen and the victim will ask to speak to a female officer. As much as it might be challenging on one side, it’s challenging for males as well. It can be equally as challenging for either gender. Being in law enforcement.”

There is no such thing as genders. It is a descriptive word to delineate male and female names. Like Angel (M) or Angela (F) Josephina or (M) Jose’. Fire departments, police and military, are weaker with female leaders or rank and file policemen/firemen. The same goes for Governors, Mayors and Judges. Frankly, females are led by their feelings, Males are led by logic. By vast majorities. Women are weaker and emotional. Not all, but for any excellent cop or fireman who is female, there is a better male than her.
She’s delusional to say those things.
Don’t get carried away with the celebrating, folks.
