Five individuals working for the intelligence services of the Russian Federation have been charged with a terrorism conspiracy and planning murders “around the world,” including in the United States.
The individuals, who are currently at large, “paid and attempted to pay individuals within the United States and elsewhere to conduct pre-operational surveillance and carry out targeted killings, and commissioned associates to commit and attempted to commit acts of terrorism against civilian and military infrastructure in European countries that are aligned, or perceived to be aligned, with Ukraine,” according to the Department of Justice.
U.S. Attorney Jamie McDonald said in a statement:
We will not tolerate efforts to finance terrorist activities and engage in acts of violence — particularly when these activities are commissioned by state actors and touch American soil. As alleged, the defendants, working for the intelligence services of Russia, conspired to cause destruction and mayhem around the world, including right here in the United States. The Russian-led network charged in today’s indictment is brazen, aggressive, and far-reaching, and the charges levied against the defendants should send a clear message: no matter where you are, and no matter who you work for, we will investigate and prosecute you for your crimes. I thank our partners at the FBI who work tirelessly to protect our communities and am grateful that our law enforcement partners neutralized this deadly and outrageous threat.
The individuals were allegedly working for the RIS Network since 2024 and had “conspired to conduct and conducted attacks and murder around the world.” The defendants are Yuri Khrameev, Kirill Khrameevyuri, Oemis Romagoza Durruthykirill, Yaidel Delgado Suarez, and Angel Eduardo Castro.
The group has allegedly carried out numerous acts of terrorism around the globe, including in Prague and Lithuania.
The most recent was hiring an individual in the U.S. to surveil and murder “a prominent Russian dissident they believed to be residing in the United States.”
Were they moonlighting?................
