On the same day as Obama's Rose Garden speech (day after the #Benghazi attacks), @CBSNews
reporter Steve Kroft had a previously scheduled interview with @BarackObama
for the @60Minutes news program. Given the timing, this became an opportunity to ask the president about #Benghazi.

Steve Kroft: "Mr. President, this morning you went out of your way to avoid the use of the word TERRORISM in connection with the Libya attack."

Obama: "Right." Kroft was right to press Obama on this as ALL Sr. administration officials had avoided the terrorism description.

Kroft: "Do you believe that this was a terrorist attack?"

Obama: "Well it's too early to know exactly how this came about, what group was involved, but obviously it was an attack on Americans."

It's important to realize the significant TIMING of this statement made by Obama in the 60 Minutes interview. In his own words, on the same day, he not only confirmed he did NOT call the #Benghazi assault terrorism in his Rose Garden speech but he also explained WHY. (1/2)

Fast forward 1 month to the town hall presidential debate, and Pres. Obama, with Candy Crowley's help, is now desperately using the Rose Garden speech as proof that he did call the #Benghazi attacks terrorism: THE EXACT OPPOSITE of his claim in the 60 Minutes interview. This constituted a golden opportunity for CBS News to exclusively expose Pres. Obama's #Benghazi lie. In their possession was an interview where Obama, in his own words, contradicts the assertions he had now made in the presidential debate. Not only was this an opportunity for CBS News, it was their constitutionally protected OBLIGATION to expose Obama's lie. What they did instead destroys any journalistic integrity remaining in the eyes of anyone who expects news organizations to hold government accountable. (2/2)

If Trump had let Biden off the hook, the way Mitt did there with Obama, and catered to him, pretended he was sane, losing the election in a split second when we all walked away from our TVs in disgust of the wormy, wimpy, corrupt crap, instead of doing what he did, shaking his head, saying ‘I have no idea what he just said, no one knows what he just said’, winning the election losing some pearl clutching wimps, he would have lost the election

It’s not CBS’ job to argue with facts. The debate is actually between the guys who are debating. Mitt presented no argument. Were we supposed to look forward to a presidency where the president expected the press to help him do his job? This press!?

If Trump had let Biden off the hook during their debate, the way Mitt did there, he’d have lost the election on the debate stage the way Mitt did.

Mitt pretended Obama wasn’t a corrupt liar who left our embassy people to die in Benghazi. We all knew what happened in Benghazi and we didn’t need no stinking Candy Crowley to decipher. We knew then and there Romney was going to allow the corruption

The election was over. We collectively walked away from our TVs in disgust of the wormy, wimpy, corrupt crap. Six weeks later we watched the numbers. No one was surprised.

If Trump had done this in his debate with Biden, let him ramble, then treat him respect, like Mitt did with Obama, instead of doing what he did, shaking his head in response to Biden, saying ‘I have no idea what he just said, no one knows what he just said’, winning the election, losing only some pearl clutchers, he would have lost the election.

If Trump had lost the debate with Biden, it would have been on him. He wanted to be president. He has to with the debate or he can’t debate with Putin, Xi, Zelenskyy et al. No one would have blamed the bullies in the press that Trump faced. It wouldn’t have been Caitlin Collins fault

I was screaming at the tv that night. In my opinion, he had arranged with Crowley to hold up that paper. Somehow ( probably from spying on the Romney campaign, like he did on Trump in 2016) he knew Mitt would bring up that he never called Benghazi terror.
Right on cue, he’s like show him the documents Candy.
It took the wind out of Mitts sails. Mitt hemmed and hawed the est of the night.
It basically killed his campaign that night. Not as drastic as the Biden Trump debate, but it was a kill shot.

That same day (September 12), a CBS reporter asked Obama to clarify - specifically asking if the Benghazi attack was terrorism. Obama said it was too soon to know. A month later, a CBS allowed Obama to insist in the Presidential debate that he said it was terrorism. The CBS reporter at the Presidential debate could have said, "Then why did you tell a CBS reporter on September 12, after the Rose Garden interview, that we didn't have enough information to say...." Obama talks out of the side of his mouth, changing his story and CBS smiles. Meanwhile, CBS and other MSM 'fact check' President Trump and distort everything he has said.
