Revered Massachusetts defense attorney Kevin Reddington is facing a four-count formal disciplinary petition filed with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers (BBO) alleging professional misconduct, including claims made by convicted felon and former Fall River mayor Jasiel Correia II.
Reddington is coming off the high-profile murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, accused of murdering her three children. The lengthy trial ended in a mistrial on Friday when the jury was deadlocked after hours of deliberation.
The petition for discipline was filed on June 23, 2026, by Bar Council to the BBO, the investigative body that handles attorney discipline under the Supreme Judicial Court, which will make the final determination whether Reddington will face discipline.
Correia’s allegations of professional violations against Reddington include accusations that the trial defense attorney tried to change his fee shortly before the federal trial against the then-mayor in April 2021. The three other counts involve unrelated clients of Reddington that allege misuse of client’s funds and bad record keeping.
In the 26-page court filing, Correia accused Reddington of attempting to extort $50,000 from him and take a 20 percent ownership of the defunct company SnoOwl.
Correia said text messages showed Reddington attempting to shake him down for additional money before the month-long trial.

Despicable is more like it.
The guy is an unethical hack. He showed who he is at the end of that trial.
Although these allegations have nothing to do with the Clancy trial on the surface, I suspect behind the scenes the disciplinary board is going after him because of all the despicable stuff he pulled.
This guy is a crooked as a barrel of snakes and a perfect example of why people despise defense attorneys.

I’m waiting for an investigation into his ethics, behavior, and possible illegalities re the Clancy trial.
He doxed the holdout juror.
He argued with, and disparaged, the judge in open court.
He pulled out of his ass the post-partum issue at the last minute that never had been a thing initially.
He wanted to have a verdict based on a jury of 11 people. WTF anyhow? This is America; we have laws and Code.
I didn’t watch the whole thing, or hear every disgusting word he said after, but there must be more.

Attorneys argue with judges all the time in open court. As for his defense of Clancy, that was his job. If I were ever a defendant in a criminal trial I would hope my attorney would fight just as hard. You don’t have to like the defendant or the defense arguments to understand that criminal defense lawyers are expected to fight for their clients.

Something is very wrong with the state of “justice” in MA.
...but they are not supposed to violate the law while doing so. And frankly, the willingness of many defenders to lie for their clients and to subvert the Constitution since the rise of "case law" instead of ConLaw at the nation's law degree mills is almost as deadly to this nation as the Democrat Party and the legacy media.
