There should be a 3 overdose injection limit. For a lifetime. After that, you’re on your own. Why keep saving people who won’t get off that cr@p?
So the penniless, psychotic druggies that are on the edge of death get free medicine to prolong their miserable life of crime to feed their addictions?
Sounds like a total winner to me.
Must be funded by Seattle, Washington.
Call it ‘the Floyd’.
I have a serious skin condition that makes me deadly allergic to any kind of skin patch so my doctor prescribed a special allergy medication that is only administered by a skin patch. Should I try it?
I’m guessing the best way to NOT overdose is to NOT use fentanyl outside of a doctor’s care.
That’s just me. It’s a useful drug in a hospital. It’s not a good drug on the street.
People in advanced age, extreme pain and/or impaired by meds can forget how many meds they already took. If they have high dosage due to tolerance, the difference between relief and overdose can be one extra dose.
I’ve been in extreme chronic pain and was lucky enough to solve the problem before I needed such strong opioids. But I was already treated like an addict day one since they could not directly see the cause of my pain via x-ray, etc.
It sickenened me more that people immediately made such assumptions while in extreme pain. Drugs like fentanyl are the only relief for some with life long pain and such technology can literally save their life
D’oh!
follow the money... Whenever a lifesaving opportunity comes along that benefits the lowest common denominator of society, someone somewhere is making bank!!
Who is it!??
With all the years on this planet, I’ve yet to meet anyone overdosing from fentanyl.
They are the access to government jobs in the helping line.
I know a couple who did overdose, but I wasn’t around to see it.
They are unavailable to comment.
So, hey doc I am a fentanyl user can you write me a script for a patch to save my like because I am stupid. I will need at least 30 refills a month.
I figured this would be a very good device for law enforcement since they get overdoses for accidental contact. I had not considered accidental overdose by legitimate patients, but you make a very good point. I also wonder if health care workers need to worry, but I do not know their risk for exposure.
Go Hokies!
Won’t be used because it activates when it detects any fentanyl in the system.
Side effects of early use: If the person has a physical dependence on opioids, administering naloxone early will still throw them into sudden, acute withdrawal symptoms (such as vomiting, agitation, tremors, and rapid heart rate)
They won’t use it because it won’t let them get the Fentanyl “high”.
Just never take that crap in the first place
So, fentanyl will be weeding out fewer undesirables from the population?
Yea...I’ve seen videos on youtube with drug addicts sleeping on sidewalks or slumping in strange contorions.
Will any politicians ever tell Americans to stop taking these drugs? If they have, I haven’t heard any since Nancy Reagan’s “ just say no” slogan. If the USA did not have such a huge market, there would not be so much profit in selling these dangerous drugs.
