Researchers working at the archaeological site of Kainua near the modern town of Marzabotto found two bronze female statuettes and an extremely rare bronze bowl inside an ancient well system. Human remains belonging to two adults were also found at the site.
The excavation is being conducted by the University of Bologna in collaboration with the Ravenna Archaeological Group.
The objects have been dated to between the late sixth and early fifth centuries BC, when the Etruscan settlement was being established and developed...
The location of the discovery adds to its significance. The well stands within Kainua’s sanctuary district, where archaeologists have previously identified two monumental temples. Etruscan inscriptions indicate that the temples were dedicated to Tinia and Uni, two of the most important deities in the Etruscan pantheon.
Tinia was the supreme sky god and is often compared with the Greek Zeus and Roman Jupiter. Uni, his consort, occupied a position comparable with Hera in Greek religion and Juno in Roman tradition.

Yeah, I’ve got mixed feelings about being dug up in a couple of millennia. Might have to include a note for the diggers.
If you’re just a pile of bones, I can see why that might worry you.
If only Lassie were around they might have been saved.
Everyone loves Hoards !! Thanks for posting so many exciting discoveries here.
BTW, love the section in your Bio on Thomas Cole, an epic American painter.
A couple of those big rocks in the foreground look like they’re levitating.
Especially governments.
Of course. According to some, that's how they built the pyramids in Egypt!
I am sure the folks drawing water from that well were thrilled to know there were at least two bodies down there. LOL
One of them was named Timmy.
“If only Lassie were around they might have been saved.”
Genius!
Well, I really value my privacy.
I always wonder what happened to the person who hid these ancient treasures and never got back to claim them.
Yes, stash the gold !
We’ll get back to it after the ______ (fill in the blank) passes.
The stashers may have been the only person who knew where and what was stashed. Can’t have too many knowing where the stash is.
We all come to an end and I suspect many stashers never expected that they would up and die without ever had the idea of telling anyone of the stash’s whereabouts.
It looks similar to the well they found on Oak Island. I’m not implying that they’re related in any way, just similar.
